|
| OUR
PURPOSE |
|
“Train
up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old,
he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Project
56 exists to enable 5th and 6th grade Christian students
to: |
| |
*
GROW in their faith in Jesus Christ
* REACH OUT to non-believing students
* CONNECT themselves together, to challenge
those growing in faith
* DISCOVER their own unique God given
abilities and HONOR God with their life. |
| “Don’t
let anyone look down on you because you are young, but
set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in
love, in faith, and in purity.” I Timothy 4:12 |
| PHILOSOPHY
OF MINISTRY |
|
| In
Project 56, our goal is to: |
|
*
Present the Word of God in a dynamic and engaging manner
through in-depth Bible Study
* Lead our kids to a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ as their Lord and Savior.
* Teach them how to apply the Word of God to their lives
on a personal level and daily basis. |
| Proverbs
20:11 says, “Even a child is known by his actions,
by what is and pure and right.”
Project 56 hits kids where they notice it most - the
entertainment industry. We all recognize the strong
influence of the media on our children - in their attitudes,
their dress, their language, and their values.
It is our goal to provide the 5th and 6th graders with
the discernment tools they need to successfully engage
in a decision-making process and make appropriate choices
that honor Jesus Christ.
Our students are growing to be leaders in their schools
and communities, and are a part of a generation leading
people to Christ!

| STRUCTURE |
|
| Project
56 is a division of the Christian Education Department.
The CE Department endeavors to maintain a consistent
flow of ministry from one age group to the next. Consistency
provides a natural flow of learning as children progress
from one class to another. Project 56 is designed to
provide our children with a smooth transition out of
Res
Life Kidz and prepare them for entry into the youth
group, Vertical
Reality, starting in the 7th grade. |
| PROJECT
56 SPECIALS |
|
| Our
kids know the truth of James 1:22 - It’s not enough
to be hearers of the Word, that we must be but doers,
also. Hands-on learning leaves lasting impressions. Here
are some examples of our special projects we have done
in the past: |
| |
* Designing a class newsletter
* Touring WDCX radio station
* Producing a radio drama about the crucifixion of Jesus
Christ.
* Making a music video
* Interviewing visiting guest artists about their ministry
through performing and visual art |
| MIDWEEK
SERVICES |
|
On
Wednesday evenings during the school year we have club
programs - Royal Rangers for the boys, and Pioneer clubs
for the girls. This is for ages 5 yrs. through the 6th
grade.
Mid-week during the summer, the same age groups remain,
but we introduce a new curriculum that is different
every year. |
