Move
over Generation X, it’s time for the (J)oshua
Generation.
It’s
time for teens and young adults to rise up and take
the land: their schools, their friends and their families
for the Kingdom of God.
We
know that God is in the business of using young people
to do His mighty works. In 1 Samuel 17, when the giant
Goliath defied the armies of God, taunting them, and
doubting their abilities, it was a teen-age boy, faithful
and courageous, that stepped forward to face the challenge
and gain the victory.
We
believe this is a generation of Giant Killers; teens
strong in faith and filled with God’s Words, more
than able to do mighty works everyday of their lives,
and wherever they go.
PASSION
“As
for me, I shall behold Thy face in righteousness; I
will be satisfied with Thy likeness when I awake…”
Psalms 17:15
“One
thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days
Of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to
meditate in His temple…” Psalms 27:4
Members
of VR are passionate about praise and worship. They’re
passionate about giving praise to God for all His awesome
works.
Vertical
Reality is upward reality. That is, teen-agers who have
a relationship with their Lord and Heavenly Father up
above. They seek God’s face on a regular basis,
and they long to dwell in His presence.
PLAN
Vertical Reality meets every Wednesday in the Vertical Reality Youth Center. Services start at 7pm. Services are designed with teenagers in mind; they are fast paced, full of energy and always fun. Students learn more when they are having fun and enjoying themselves, so lessons are designed to be interesting and dynamic, yet relevant. The principles they learn will strengthen and encourage them to fight the good fight of faith!
In addition to our weekly services, VR also offers monthly activities that your teen can get involved in. Most teenagers are more concerned with their social life than their spiritual life. With that in mind, our monthly activities combine the best of both worlds. We keep it exciting and fresh. Our monthly activities are designed to bring students closer to each other as they get closer to God. Whether it’s our Super Bowl Party in January, our “Right Nite” Halloween party in October or one of our other theme-based parties your teen will enjoy coming and bringing their friends too! The highlights of the year for many of our teens is the annual trip to Kingdom Bound Music Festival held in August in the 6 Flags Darien Lake Theme Park.
PEOPLE
The
teens and young adults at VR are just like you. They’ve
grown up in a world of rebellion, where it’s seen
as cool to break the rules and do what you want. However,
at VR, they’ve seen that they have a higher calling
and a better purpose. They’ve learned that God has
an awesome plan for their lives, better than anything
the world can hope to offer, and they’ve chosen
to stand up and live right.
Come
out and meet the teens of VR and see for yourself how
God has blessed their lives beyond their wildest dreams.
PLUNGE
Kids have talent. We put it to good use. Here are some areas where your teen can get involved:
The In-Your-Face Worship Band
Psalms 24:6 “This is the generation of those who seek your face, O God of Jacob.”
Performing during VR events & services, the band utilizes the best in contemporary worship to get in-God’s face. Kids who love God and have musical talent can plug in here.
The Jeremiah Generation Drama Team
“Then the Lord put forth His hand, and touched my mouth… And the Lord said unto me ‘Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth…’” Jeremiah 1:9
This group of talented teens combines the power of God with the power of drama to minister God’s Word in a dynamic way.
The Vertical Reality Multimedia Team
This team of trained teens are the technical brains behind every VR service & event.
Missions
We not only have a heart for reaching students in our community but also others around the world. VR has sent Student Missions Teams to Los Angeles, California and San Jose, Costa Rica. We remain committed to taking students on short term Missions Trips. Our passion is to see our students become strong and committed Christians as they discover God’s marvelous plan for their lives and fulfill His Great Commission!

Okay, so it’s not in your teen’s list of career choices, but hey… if Jesus washed the disciples feet, we can serve students a few snacks!!
PRAYER
The
reason we’re here.
Did
you know that God created the Heavens, the Earth and
all that is in them all for you? Did you know that
He gave His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross so
that you could live?
God
created you with a purpose. He created you to have
fellowship with Him. He wants to you to have an abundant
life on Earth, and eternal life with Him in Heaven.
The
problem is that sin and satan try to keep you from
all that God has to offer: sin keeps us away from
God; satan tries to keep us that way. The solution
is simple: Jesus. He lived a life free from sin and
free from satan’s lies. Yet, He freely chose
to give up His own life for yours. He chose to accept
your sins, and the sins of the world, so that you
could have relationship with His Heavenly Father and
yours.
The
Bible says that there is only one way to the Father,
and that is through Jesus. If you’ve never accepted
Jesus into your life, why continue without Him? Why
rob yourself of all that God has planned for your
life? Why reject the greatest gift ever given to mankind,
the true Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?
Pray
this prayer with your mouth, and believe it in your
heart, and as the Bible says, your life will change
forever and fantastically:
Lord
Jesus,
I know I am a sinner. I know I have acted against
your Word, and against your principles. I know
that sin is separation from You, and from God
the Father. I don’t want to live apart from
You anymore. I thank you that You died on the
cross for my sins. I thank you that You, a sinless
Man, loved me so much that you took all my sins,
past, present and future, away from me so that
I could live clean as the righteousness of God.
I believe that You raised from the dead, and are
seated in Heaven, my future home, with Your Father
and mine. I accept you as my Lord and Savior,
and I pledge to live according to Your Word and
Your principles from this day on. Thank you for
loving me; thank you for saving me.

felt God's presence for the first time. It was overwhelming.
It is difficult to describe the depth of God's love

head first into a pool of liquid love." Pastor
Dan is the leader of the VR worship team 'In Your Face'.
Through loud, energetic praise and passionate sincere
worship, the band strives to lead people into God's
presence and be "in His face".
