Two years ago the Directors of the Goodness Project and Resurrection Life Food Pantry met under tense circumstances. Two head strong women passionate about meeting the needs of the community met for the first time and it could get ugly.
For over 25 years Resurrection Life Food Pantry has relied on the donations of area retailers to fill the gap in our food supply. A few years back, donations from our largest retailer partner began to dwindle. Investigation into the situation revealed that there was a “New Girl in Town”.
Angela Catuzza, the Director for the Goodness Project in Buffalo (https://www.teamgoodness.com/our-locations/ , watched as all too often food and product were being tossed into dumpsters or stored in warehouses to collect dust and eventually expire. Following in the footsteps of her brother, the founder of The Goodness Project in Texas, Angela expanded the Project into Buffalo and it became a game changer for local nonprofits and families in need.
The Goodness Project provides help and hope to families in crisis by sourcing and distributing a wide variety of needed items directly to those facing difficult life challenges and through re-distribution to charities that serve the community. https://www.teamgoodness.com/
That original face to face between the two Director’s ended with a strong partnership and friendship. The Goodness Project now does the sourcing, storing, and redistributing of product for not only Resurrection Life Food Pantry but dozens of other nonprofits across WNY. “With the Goodness project doing the heavy lifting, we can spend more time making sure the needs of families across Western New York are met.” stated Kim Reynolds, Director of Resurrection Life Food Pantry.
THANK YOU Angela and your entire team at the Goodness Project . Your 2020 year-to date food donations to Resurrection Life Food Pantry has exceeded 286,000 lbs! YOU have provided thousands of meals to families in need.
